Specialising in Japanese acupuncture

Acupuncture clinics at two locations allowing easy access for Sheffield and Rotherham:
Bramley Clinic at Sheffield S1 and Parkview Therapy Centre at Firth Park S5.

I have a distinctive approach based on Japanese acupuncture -  this emphasises the use of  very subtle and gentle but powerful techniques using only the finest needles. Even the most sensitive and needle phobic people will find this a comfortable form of treatment.

As a member of the British Acupuncture Council, I am trained in traditional forms of acupuncture along with some modern techniques. I treat patients in a holistic fashion – this means that  I aim to treat the underlying cause in addition to the immediate problem. The beauty of this approach is that, as well as many of your symptoms clearing up, you will start to feel better in a number of other ways as the acupuncture enables you to achieve a greater balance, physically, mentally and emotionally.

Training and qualifications:
I trained at the Northern College of Acupuncture in York over a period of 4 years. I qualified with a diploma in TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) style acupuncture in 2001 and became a member of the British Acupuncture Council. Subsequently I underwent further training in different styles of Japanese acupuncture. To date I have been practicing acupuncture for about 10 years.

Members of the British Acupuncture Council are fully insured and bound by a rigorous code of ethics and practise. All members of this body have undergone extensive training in acupuncture and appropriate level of biomedical sciences.

What can acupuncture do for me?

Some people turn to acupuncture for help with a specific symptom or condition. Others choose to have treatment to help maintain good health, as a preventive measure, or to improve their general sense of wellbeing.

Because traditional acupuncture aims to treat the

whole person rather than specific symptoms in

isolation, it can be effective for a range of conditions.

This approach also means that each patient’s

treatment plan will be different.

Many people return to acupuncture again and again because they find it so beneficial and relaxing.

The World Health Organisation has recognised that acupuncture has been proven effective for many conditions. Listed below are just some of the most common ones:

Headache, Facial pain, Dental Pain, TMJD,  Allergic Rhinitis

Neck Pain, tennis elbow, Periarthritis of the shoulder, Low Back Pain, Knee Pain, Sciatica

Nausea, Vomiting, Some other stomach problems, Dysentery

Rheumatoid Arthritis,

Post operative pain

Some menstrual disorders, Malposition of fetus

This is by no means a comprehensive list and the exclusion of your particular condition does not mean that it can't be treated. If you are unsure whether acupuncture can help you or have any questions about the treatment then please feel free to

contact me by email and I will normally be able to reply within the day.
